The Standing Liberty Quarter was minted betwen 1916 and 1930. The designer of the Standing Liberty Quarter was Hermon Atkins MacNeil. On the obverse, there is Lady Liberty and on the reverse, there is an American eagle in flight. The Liberty has an upraised shield in her left hand and an olive branch in her right hand. The controversy part of the coin is Liberty’s bared breast. In 1917, the coin was redesigned and Liberty’s chest was covered with chain mail.
